Live Pure: Girls – Lesson 4
Philippians 1:9-11; Proverbs 4:25-27; Zephaniah 3:17; Psalm 139:14; Philippians 2:15 (NLT)
9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. 11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
25 Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. 26 Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. 27 Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.
17 For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS
Focus of Teaching for This Series
These four-weeks will challenge preteens to value purity. Both boys and girls groups will be on the same topic, but handling it differently from week to week. Based on Philippians 1:9-11 and Ephesians 5:3, preteens will be challenged to honor their bodies and minds as a dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. Guys and girls will learn to make wise relationship choices as they understand what it means to pursue righteousness. They will discover the value of keeping their minds, hearts and relationships pure and be challenged to live it out.
We live in a culture that bombards preteens with messages that contradict purity. These messages come from all angles and are constantly tempting them. Some of the sources include: commercials, TV shows, social media, websites, movies, music, magazines, etc. Rather than allowing culture to shape their lives, this series will help preteens to allow God to shape them. The series will leave preteens realizing it’s totally worth it to listen to what God has to say about purity!
HOW DO WE LIVE PURE LIVES?
You will see us posting these images and others like it to connect the weekend teaching with the everyday life of preteen students. Feel free to post this on your own social media accounts and tag us with @mpccfiftysix or just use it to text or email to your own child(ren).
To help students remember the main points we have studied in this series and to challenge them to live out this purity as they fall in love with Jesus.
